I found a job!!! Or rather, Kelly Services helped me find the job. Actually all is not confirmed till tmr when I go down for some briefing. Really thank God that they contacted me one day after I registered with them.

Many thanks to laoda of muthu clan, Winnie!! Without her recommendation I wouldn't have thought of approaching that job agency. And guess what..she's also at HSBC! Not the same branch though.

I expected Recruit Express to find me a job first..since they seemed so professional when I applied for banking. The consultant was like asking all sorts of qns..whether you're proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint..what's your preference for working hours..expected pay etc. The office was just filled with people hopping from one end to the other and the typical buzzing sound of people talking on the phone.

When Jeremy and I went to Kelly Services..it was a totally different atmosphere! Like the building itself seems deserted..some of the companies only had an opaque door which is closed all the time. And when you walk along the corridor you can hear your own footsteps......At least the people at Kelly Services were friendly. Just that they didn't even ask what kind of job I was looking for or my expected salary. All they did was to put Jeremy and I on a typing test and show us out of the office. That's why I got so bewildered when the lady called me up today, offering me a job at HSBC.

It's like...thank God arh. They didn't know I was looking for a bank job. The only thing I'm unhappy about is I have to work till 6.15pm. Which means I can't even rush for the 6.50pm driving slot at Ubi. Guess I have to cancell all my bookings and re-schedule to 8.20pm. Imagine learning driving from 8+ till 10+?! All you'll see is darkness darkness and more darkness. Then I'll have to feel for the footbrake in the dark..lols.

Talking about the typing test..I surprised myself with a speed of 61 words per minute! Woah..the power of msn and blogging. It was 64 minus the words I typed wrongly. I really never thought that I've unconsciously honed my typing skills over the years..hilarious :)

Guess what. Jeremy and I actually bumped into Li-li at taka, and you have no idea how often those two acjc people bump into each other on the streets. Including meeting each other on Sat during cell..I guess the frequency may possibly go up to 4 times per week? Some people call that fate (in chinese, you yuan)

I received e-mails from worship ministry a few days ago, informing me that I'm down for duty this Sat. I can't describe the mixed feelings within me when I read through the mails. It's like..I suddenly realise being in the worship ministry is not something to joke nor boast about. Cos it really requires commitment. Fri nights and Sat afternoons are blocked out for rehearsals, plus we have to practice the songs at home beforehand. Many a times they'd require "playing by ear" since half of the songs are new.

So imagine, you have to listen to a I've-never-heard-of-it-in-my-entire-life song, familiarise yourself with it, and come up with the chords yourself if what you hear doesn't tally with the score. Furthermore, be ready to do transposing on the spot, anytime, anywhere, depending on the lead singer. I just hate changing keys...oh boy.

The only comforting thought is I only have to sit in for the first few practices, and probably play one or two songs. But still, I won't regret my decision. I'll use whatever little I have to serve Him, cause he first blessed me with the gifts :)

Last complaint of the day: Why are bus and mrt fares so ex for me now?! I can go out with $8 and be left with $2 within a day. There was once I forgot to tap my card when alighting (when we were students everywhere was $0.45, nobody bothered to tapped) so I ended up paying the full fare. The last time I saw the amount of money in my card was $8 or so. The next time I boarded a bus, it became $6+!!! Woah..a trip from PL mrt to my house actually costs $2. I might as well drive myself man..

Monthly concession passes are not cheap too k. For HCP (both bus and train concessions) it cost $97. Better start calculating how much I spend on transport to see which concession is more worth it. Not forgetting the transfer rebates and extra cost to get to the driving centre from my workplace and "partying days" where I go round Singapore with friends......you'll realise how pek chek I am when you calculate all these yourself.

Hopefully things turn out well for me tmr. To all job-hunters..don't give up! There's bound to be a job suitable for you on earth. Be patient :)

i left my footprints (:
